A new ecosystem opens for the European citizen with the use of New Technologies and the profusion of codes of conduct. Both factors should keep a balance if it is intended that individuals live in such a space safely. However, does the current juridical and technological level of protection suffice to face the vulnerability of minors privacy, even if they are digital natives ? This is the question that underlies this work; its title reveals the answer.Currently, She is a Spanish Permanent Professor at the Law Faculty of the UNED Universidad Nacional de Educación a Distancia (Open National University)- in the Civil Law Department. She obtained the Doctor of Law degree from the Carlos III de Madrid University, Social and Legal Sciences Faculty in 1992. She stayed as Visiting Professor at the Centre de Droit Prive Fondamental of the Robert Schuman University, in Strasbourg (France), for two academic years (2002-2004). Since October 2004 she worked as a Seconded National Expert at the European Commission (DG JLS Civil Justice and Fundamental Rights Directorate, Unit C-1), in Brussels (Belgium).As a University Professor I have devoted my entire professional career to research, teaching, writing, lecturing and those other activities inherent to that. My C.V. attests that I have dedicated to go deeply into the study of Civil law at both national and European levels.Un nuevo ecosistema se abre para el ciudadano europeo con el empleo de las nuevas tecnologías y la proliferación de códigos de conducta. Ambos factores deben procurar su equilibrio si se quiere que los sujetos del mismo habiten confiados. Pero, ¿es suficiente el nivel de protección jurídico y técnico alcanzado para responder a la potencial vulnerabilidad de la privacidad del colectivo de menores, aunque sean nativos digitales ? Esta es la pregunta que subyace en la obra cuyo título revela ya su respuesta.Actualmente es Profesora Titular de Universidad en el Departamento de Derecho Civil de la Facultad de Derecho de la UNED (Universidad Nacional de Educación a Distancia). Doctora por la Universidad Carlos III de Madrid desde 1992, estuvo como Profesora Visitante en el Centro Privado Fundamental de la Universidad Robert Schuman (Francia) y después trabajó como Experto Nacional Destacado ante la Comisión Europea en la Dirección General Justicia Libertad y Seguridad (JLS)- Justicia civil y Derechos Fundamentales ,Unidad C: Cooperación judicial civil.Como docente ha consagrado toda su carrera a la investigación, enseñanza y estudio del Derecho civil a nivel nacional e internacional.
