The Odyssey of a Testosterone is a work of fiction about the directionless journey of a character named Dick, who, in his eagerness to prove his masculinity meets all sorts of dilemmas and existential predicaments that end up affecting him tragically. Despite his sexual and romantic complexes, Dick, in many respects, is an ordinary person. However, his good feelings and intentions are often misinterpreted, and he suffers extreme isolation from the society in which he finds himself. In his early childhood, and in his adolescent experiences with romance, Dick suffers many severe traumas that leave him scarred for life. As he matures, he s unable to tame the demons his unconscious mind conjures up and unleashes upon him. In the end, he completely surrenders to his erotic hallucinations and reaches a point of mental and physical collapse. Dick, the hero of this modern psychosexual tragicomedy, is not someone who interprets life as trivial, stupid or anarchic. He has a conscience: In his words and actions, he attempts to give meaningful direction to his existence. However, driven by unmet inner needs, he constantly finds himself in inter-personal conflicts that magnify his pathologies. Within these existential entanglements, his compulsive fantasies become a defense mechanism but also ensnare him in self-destructive patterns of interaction, especially with women. Through the force of his own powerful will, Dick periodically makes momentary breakthrough and finds rays of hope and light. In the end, however, the unexamined dark forces roiling deep in his psyche tragically overwhelm his quest for comfort, solace, and tranquility.
